Daniel Rovira de Torredembarra, winner of the 33rd Calçots Grower Competition
The winner received a weekend stay at a Rural Tourism House, courtesy of the IGP.
This contest is aimed at growers enrolled in the IGP "Calçot de Valls Protected Geographical Indication", which have three bundles of calçots that must have been properly shod and must have a length and a thickness as established by the rules of the IGP . Daniel Rovira de Torredembrra has been the winner of this edition, although this is not the first time he has won this award. The IGP Calçot de Valls is made up of more than 50 producers from 4 counties: Alt Camp, Baix Camp, Tarragonès and Baix Penedès.>
In this 33rd edition of the contest, a tribute has been paid to Sebastià Banús Figueras, cultivator and member of the IGP.
